Seven Truths Every Child of God Must Know. 2

2 - What you respect, you attract.

Respect? Every culture and Religion share this common trait. Respect. Respect for the culture and ways. Respect for the Laws. Respect of the Leaders of such. Respect is taught for others sake. What is Respect?

1. To feel or show deferential regard for; esteem.
2. To avoid violation of or interference with.
3. To relate or refer to; concern.

As a Noun?
1. A feeling of appreciative, often deferential regard; esteem.
2. The state of being regarded with honor or esteem.
3. Willingness to show consideration or appreciation.
4. respects Polite expressions of consideration or deference: pay one's respects.
5. A particular aspect, feature, or detail.

So this is a good thing. Right? If you respect others, they will respect you. Right? No. Not always. But what you Respect, THAT you WILL attract. In other words. What you honor and show reverence for, that will control you. It really is a simple concept. However, like many things, mankind can get lost in the translation between Spiritual and Physical meaning.

God is no respecter of persons.

Romans 2:
1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Also stated in....

Colossians 3:
25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
As we discussed before, God is like Gravity. He just is. It doesn't matter if you chose to accept Him or not. Follow His Will, and Ways for your life, or not. It does not matter what Religion you are born into. All that matters is His Plan. Gravity just is. It doesn't care if you are rich or poor. Black or White. Male or Female. It doesn't care where you come from or what you believe. It just is. If you follow the Law of Gravity, you will do just fine. If not, you will fall and depending on the height, you may die.

God is the same way. If you Respect Him and His ways, He will Respect you. You will receive the things of the Spirit. His gifts. You will be His Child. If not, you will not. You will condemn yourself by your own actions and words. He does not judge you and condemn you. You do that all by yourself.

Now the only time The Word talks about Respecting others, is when Jesus tells us what has become the Golden Rule.

Matthew 7:
12 “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
And in...

Romans 12:
10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
However, this is talking about respecting your Brothers and Sisters in Christ. The Family of God. We are not to Respect some over others. Such as the Rich over the Poor, nor, the Poor over the Rich, but all equally. As long as the are in the Family of God.

Then there is Respect of things. Cultures and Governments. Traditions and Religions. Then there is God. What is it in your life you Respect most? If you have the utmost Respect for your Religion, then you will Serve that more so than anything else. You will "avoid violation of or interference with" such Traditions and Commandments. You will do the things of that Religion and you will attract the benefits of the Religion. If the Religion tells you to kill those not in that Religion, you will violate the Commandments of God, in favor of that Religion. Jesus tells us this also..

Mark 7:
1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.

2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.

3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.

5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Paul tells us he received great Praise and honor in his Religion for doing the things of his Religion when He was killing God's people.

Galatians 1:
13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.Then he explained how it was Jesus Himself that converted him..
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
You see, Saul respected Religion. He attracted those that did the same. He learned from men and did the things of man. Then Jesus took over. He became Paul and started Respecting the Lord over man and it was The Spirit that he received things from. You cannot learn from those you despise. You learn from those and the things you Respect.

Did you know that there were those that Respected Hitler? To this day, there still are. They attract those of like mind. They learn of the ways of this evil man. They do the things they learn. Many, sadly, in the world will never learn the things of God, for the simple fact they do not Respect God. Who do you respect? God or man? What do you Respect. Faith in Jesus, or the Traditions of Men? You will attract the things you Respect. Make sure you are Respect the right things in life. Above all, God first.

Do you know Jesus as your Savior? Have you been adopted into the Family of God? If not, say this Prayer. Right now. Wherever you may be. Say it in your own words, and do not doubt in your heart. God will hear you. He will send the Spirit of Life to you. Let us Pray..

"Oh heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Jesus's sacrifice for me. I repent my sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Jesus, Amen!"

That's it. It really is that simple. Now go tell someone what you have just done. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." {Romans 10:9} You need to find a Church that God leads you to, and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A new Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." {Colossians 3:10}

  1. Hey Steve,

    Welcome to TAG. I'm a little confused by your comments. So let's discuss a bit. First "DO YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU PROCLAIM?" Yup. Or I would not proclaim it.

    "Many believers proclaim certain things that they believe to be factual, but do their actions comport with their assertions?" One of my main problems with Religion. If you are accusing me of such behavior, then please site example?

    Talking about the 14 apocryphal books is interesting, and can be an interesting study for those interested. Not one of them is in the Hebrew language, which was the sole language used by the Inspired Historians and Poets of the Old Testament. Not one of these Writers lays any claim to inspiration. They were also never acknowledged as Sacred Scriptures by the Jewish Church. Some even claim that they teach immoral practices, and contain offensive material that is contrary to God's authorship. However, I do not see what any of this has to do with the above lesson.

    Now this next one? You really have to help me out with. You said "Faith only believers deny that water baptism is not essential in order to become saved." So uh, OK. If I deny something is NOT, then, am I not saying it IS? Or are you saying it is not? Again, not sure what this has to do with the lesson, but if you notice at the end of the lesson, I say "You need to find a Church that God leads you to, and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A new Creature." Now if you are asking me my belief, I would say this.

    I do not accept that if I tell someone about Christ, they accept it as Truth, accept Jesus, and get in a car wreck going to be Baptize, they go to hell. Sorry. I believe it IS necessary. It is both one of your first act of obedience and an outward side of your acceptance of the Gift. A physical reenactment of the death, burial, and Resurrection of Christ himself.

    I do not recall ever stating Mark 16:16 does not appear in early manuscripts nor denying Jesus said such a thing. I do not even remember ever hearing such a claim. Are you implying that I have?

    To tell you the truth Steve, I'm not really sure your point. If you are finding fault with something I have said, please do tell me in a more specific manor in which I will be more than happy to respond as I have here. If you are simply attempting to promote your Blog on this one, then you could have included a link. I would be more than happy to check it out.

    Again, welcome to TAG. Glad you stopped by and I hope the Lessons here are of some benefit to you. Be blessed and be a Blessing to others. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus be upon you. May God be with you, always.
    Peter

  2. Steve,

    As you can see, I was forced to remove your post. I did so for the protection of others who may come to read our conversation. I attempted to go to your Blog and received warnings from my Security Software that your site contains Viruses and Spyware. I'm going to chose to believe that perhaps you are unaware of this. You may what to check it out. I would not like to believe that you are claiming to be someone you are not. I was actually enjoying our conversation and was looking forward to continuing it.

    I left my response to you if you do want to respond. I will however not post your name or link. Again, I would like to believe you have no idea that your site may infect others, and that you are not CLAIMING to be a Christian Blogger in the hope of bringing people into your blog to do bad things.

    If you chose not to respond, I understand. I Pray that you are filled with the fruits of the Spirit, the Grace of our Lord Jesus, and may God be with you, always.
