 Self-Responsibility: You ARE responsible for you.

Welcome. Today, we will continue our series entitled “You are Responsible for You.” Today we will be discussing you. I understand that this is a dying concept; however, it is the Truth. We read things like this.

"For each will have to bear his own load." Galatians 6:5

This verse highlights individual accountability.

"So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God." Romans 14:12

This emphasizes our ultimate accountability to God.

“The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them." Ezekiel 18:20

This verse stresses individual accountability for sin. This is what we will be discussing today. Let us pray.

“Heavenly Father, LORD God, we come before you today with all praise and worship. You are the Alpha and the Omega. You are the great I AM, and we thank you for the ability to become your children. As your children, we ask for eyes to see, ears to hear, and a spirit to receive Your Truth and Revelation in Your Word. In this, we ask and pray in your Holy name, amen.”

We read this in Revelation.

“And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.” Revelation 20:12

Read that again. How will they be judged? “according to their deeds.”

“He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.” Romans 2:6-8

It does not say if Bob is self-seeking, does not obey the truth, but obeys unrighteousness. Susy and Paul will be cast into hell. It says Bob will be judged according to what Bob does or does not do.

Look here. Turning to John 3:16, I understand that this is one of the most well-known verses. Let’s read it together.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

Stop there a second. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that” who? “Whoever.” Who? Me, you, them, anyone and everyone, whoever, what? “Believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Next verse;

“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”

Stop. Once again, who? “Whoever.” Who? Me, you, them—anyone and everyone. It doesn’t matter; they are not condemned. However, here is that word again: “whoever.” What? “Whoever does not believe is condemned already.” Why? “Because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” Let’s move on to the next verse.

“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.”

Again, we read who? Everyone. Who is who? Me, you, them, anyone, and everyone.

“But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God." John 3:16-21

Again. It does not say that we will be held accountable for what others do, but rather for our own actions. It also does not matter who we are, where we come from, how much money we have or don't have, or what religion we follow. Simply put.

“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12

You are responsible for yourself. You are obligated to share the Gospel with others; however, we are all responsible for accepting it for ourselves. More on that coming up in the future.

We live in a world that tells us we are not responsible for our actions. Rob a bank? It’s understandable. You are poor, and you are stealing to survive in this evil capitalist society where the rich get rich and the poor starve. Shoot up a school? It is understandable. You were bullied, not hugged, as a child. Do this or that, it is understandable. You are sick. Addiction is a disease, and you most likely have a mental disorder. Whatever the action, it is simply not your fault.

It is getting worse. We live in a society that calls good evil and evil good. We are told that those with morals and an understanding of God are the problem. Those who pretend to be something they are not, dance naked in the streets, or try to teach our kids to be something they are not should be filled with pride and love, and they are the ones who are good.

Sadly, we are living in the world of 2 Timothy 4:3-4

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”

“Church” is not the true church; churches are popping up all over. Especially online. “Churches” are not only excusing sin, but also condoning sin; they are preaching that there is no sin. We are seeing Romans 1 played out in front of us.

“For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.”

God will not be mocked. He will give them a chance; however, there will come a time when God no longer waits.

“Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”

These false teachers and false churches are doing just that. They are worshipping the creature, mankind, instead of the Creator, who is God. God says Homosexuality is a sin. Transgenderism is a sin, all this garbage and mental illness is sin and He wants to free those from it. They say, Who cares what the Bible says. Not important for today. Who cares what God says? We know better. So?

“For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, and malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” Romans 1:21-32

Ever argue with someone online who claims to be wise and right, and you try to show them there is a better way? Even Yeshua, or Jesus as translated, warned us of this. Look here.

"Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.” Matthew 7:6

Wait, are you calling these people online dogs and pigs? Nope. our LORD is. He said this to those He sent out to spread the Gospel.

“And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.” Matthew 10:14

Did Yeshua say to argue with? Did Yeshua say throw the Bible at them? No, He said, move on. Why? It no longer has anything to do with you. You met your obligation. Now it is on them.

“Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.”

Trust me, I have been attacked a lot for simply spreading the Gospel. Does this mean we should not? Of course not. What it means is share the Gospel; however, if they attack you, no matter how much you may want to, do not engage in the fight. Simply move on. Just like it is up to you to have accepted the Truth of Salvation, it is up to the individual to do so for themself.

Ultimately, when you stand before God, you will be accountable for your own actions. Fortunately, we have an advocate who has already paid the price for our sins. If this were not the case, we would have to face the same judgment as the rest of the world.

As a child of God, we should be living in this manner now. Today. Mess up? Claim it. Own it. If in your power, fix it. Be responsible for the things you do. Trust me, you will have enough false witnesses when you step out and share the Gospel. Believe it or not, sometimes, it is your fault.

Have you been adopted? If not, say this Prayer. Right now. Wherever you may be, say it in your own words, and do not doubt in your heart. God will hear you. He will send the Spirit of Life to you. Let us pray.

"Oh, heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Yeshua's sacrifice for me. I believed He rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Yeshua, Amen!"

That's it. It is that simple. Now go tell someone what you have just done. "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Yeshua, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, You shall be saved." Romans 10:9. You need to find a Church that God leads you to and be baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A New Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."Colossians 3:10
