Jesus in the Old Testament, Genesis

The Entire Old Testament is about Jesus.

A study of the Bible in the Light of Jesus telling us plainly, it is all about Him.
You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,” {John 5:39}
Did you know that ALL Scripture, yes, ALL, meaning the entire Bible is about Jesus? Jesus IS the Bible. He IS The Word of God. He was with God, is with God, and IS God. There is no Bible, New or Old Testament without Jesus.

Many people simply forgo the Old Testament. They feel that it no longer applies. They feel that it has nothing to do with Jesus, and Jesus came to do away with the Old Testament in light of the New one. This is simply not True.

Then you also have some that reject the New Testament, AKA Jesus, because they do not feel that He lines up with their Holy Scriptures. Yet? It is Jesus that the Scriptures are testifying about. As a matter of Fact, You can find Jesus in EVERY Book of the Bible. Every Book of the Old Testament. This is what we will be diving into in the upcoming Weeks starting today, Week one, Book One, Genesis.

As we open the Bible, we begin in Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
In the Beginning God. God was in the beginning. He was the beginning. 1:2
“The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
God was there. The Holy Spirit was there, He was the one who hovered over the face of the Waters. In other Translations, we read it this way, “He Moved over the Waters” Now who is the Holy Spirit? Jesus is. He is also God. Remember this?
“And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea.” {Matthew 14:25}
How did God, Create, well, everything? “God Said.” You know, someone once asked me if I believed in the “Big Bang.” My answer? Yes. God Said, BANG! It was so. Look at Genesis.

“God Said, Let there be light.” There was light. By the way, I also want you to think about this. God said “Light, water, expense, Heaven, Air, dry land, Vegetation,” THEN on the Fourth Day, Day, Thousand years, whatever, Four Days away from God saying “Let there be Light.” He THEN Created the Sun and the Moon, and the Stars. Until then? He was the very Light of the World. Who? Jesus.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” {John 8:12}
Back to “God Said.” Everything that was Created, was Created, by “God Said.” God used His Word to Create all things. Did you know that The Word is a Person? Turn to John 1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. in him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Continue in Verse 9
“The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Read that again. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” JESUS. Jesus IS the Word of God. He IS the Holy Spirit of God and Yes, He IS God.

Jump ahead a bit and you see the Story of how Corrupt and Evil the heart of Man is, and how God was so disgusted that He even made us, He set us up for total destruction. Yet, through one Faithful Man, Noah, we were given a second chance. Sound familiar? 1 Corinthians 15:21?
“For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.”
Then you have the foretelling of the Coming Messiah, Jesus. He will be from the Seed of a Women. Read in Genesis 3:15. Came to past in Luke 1:34-35. The Messiah would be a descendant of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob as read in Genesis 12:3, 17:19, 28:14, Fulfilled in Luke 3:23-34. The Messiah would be a King in the line of Judah as we read in Genesis 49:10, and fulfilled in John 1:49 Some say He Jesus, first appeared amongst us as Melchizedek in Genesis 14:18. Some say the Melchizedek was simply a Shadow of the coming Jesus.

We can see many more examples of the Shadows of Jesus all through The First Book of the Bible. Genesis. But is it CLEARLY a Story of how Jesus. Yes, Jesus Created all things. Do you know Jesus as your Savior? Have you been adopted into the Family of God? If not, say this Prayer. Right now. Wherever you may be. Say it in your own words, and do not doubt in your heart. God will hear you. He will send the Spirit of Life to you. Let us Pray.

"Oh heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Jesus's sacrifice for me. I repent of my sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Jesus, Amen!"

That's it. It really is that simple. Now go tell someone what you have just done. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." {Romans 10:9} You need to find a Church that God leads you to, and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A new Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." {Colossians 3:10}

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. {2 Corinthians 13}

Until next time, Be Blessed, Be a Blessing, and Jesus IS Lord!
