Rejoice and be Thankful 6

 Countless and even unknown blessings

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name

The sun comes up
It's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, o my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name

You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
10,000 reasons for my heart to find

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending
10,000 years and then forevermore, forevermore

Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His Holy name

Sing like never before, O my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name
Yes, I will worship Your Holy name
Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name.”

I love that song so very much, and I know that some of you do as well. Even King David sang a song like this. Turn to Psalm 103.
“Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
 who heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.” Psalm 103:1-5
We will be wrapping up “Rejoice and be Thankful” today with this topic that many people do not even know exists. Be thankful for the blessings you know and see and those that are perhaps unknown to you. Oh, you have an abundance of unknown blessings every day.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9
We cannot fully comprehend God's plans for our lives, especially if we never seek His guidance. Some of His intentions are beyond our understanding.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Here is a verse that brings me comfort and, I believe, should provide comfort to everyone. This scripture can be difficult to understand or accept, but it is true. Let's turn to Romans 8:28. Read it along with me. Highlight it, underline it, and memorize it. Don’t just read it and forget it. Really take the time to digest it.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
“I lost my job.” Romans 8:28
“I lost my place to live.” Romans 8:28
“My car broke down.” Romans 8:28
“I just lost all the money in my account.” Romans 8:28

Don't just read this and forget it; take a moment to digest it and make it a part of you. Just as many children of God internalize John 3:16, make this truth personal. The God of the universe, who flung the stars into existence, is now your Abba Father. Your Daddy. He is your loving Father. Do you really believe that covering electric bills or putting food on your table is too much for Him?

I am grateful for the many blessings that I know come from God. These include my home, my vehicles, my family, and my job, which I truly love. I appreciate being a sower of seeds, a teller of truth, and a guide for others. I also cherish my pets, the friends I have made over the years, and my church community.

What are you thankful for? How about every breath you take? How about every new day? How about not having a wreck? Not losing your job? Even if you have no money, never have a lack of food on the table.
“A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
 for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
 I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
 your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
 in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
 my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
 Forever.” Psalm 23
Why? Romans 8:28. Why? Isaiah 55:8-9. Why? Jeremiah 29:11. We have no idea whatsoever, of the blessings we have from God daily. We do not even have a clue.

Get up late? Hurry and get dressed. Run outside with your coffee almost spilling all over the place. Jump in your car and nothing. Turn the key again. Nothing. “Oh great. I’m going to get fired.”

You go back inside thinking to yourself, what a horrible Tuesday this is. You may even call in and tell your Boss what happened. He is angry and tells you to just stay home but you better be on time tomorrow.

You turn on the news and watch a plane fly into Tower 2. You know, where your office is. You watch in horror as another plane hits and the building falls killing over three thousand people. Including everyone that was working in your office. Including that boss that was just angry at you. But here you sit. Alive and well. Did you get up late? Bad. Spill your coffee on you. Bad. The car did not start? Bad. Boss is mad? Bad. Romans 8:28. You are alive. You survived 9/11/01

It does not have to be as drastic. What about someone who is claiming to be a friend and yet they are secretly attempting to do you or your family harm? All of a sudden, they disappear. Or they get blessed in some way so they move on. Or they simply have a change of heart. That may have been God.

God is not only aware of our tomorrow, He is already there. He knows what is coming. Even if we have no clue. This is why we should;
“Rejoice always,  pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Keep Romans 8:28 in your mind. Truth is we have no clue. We actually cannot even comprehend God’s work in our lives.
“But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen,
nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9
He is some more good advice from God’s Word. Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Let the dead bury the dead. Let the world worry about the world. You, rejoice and be thankful in all things at all times. Even thank God for those unknown blessings that He blesses you with daily. If you are His child that is.

Are you His child? Are you sure? If not, say this prayer. Right now. Wherever you may be, say it in your own words, and do not doubt in your heart. God will hear you. He will send the Spirit of Life to you. Let us Pray.

"Oh heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Yeshua's sacrifice for me. I believed He rose from the dead. I repent my sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Yeshua, Amen!"

That's it. It is that simple. Now tell someone what you have just done. "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Yeshua, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, You shall be saved." Romans 10:9. You need to find a Church that God leads you to and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A New Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."Colossians 3:10

May the comfort of the Holy Ghost, and the peace of our Lord Yeshua, be with you all. May God bless and be with you, always.

Until next time, be blessed, be a blessing, and Yeshua is Lord!
