Seasons, Fall

 Fall,

Hello, welcome, today. Today we will continue our discussion on seasons. We already talked about spring and summer. These are most people's favorite seasons. New birth, growth, warmth, plenty of sunshine, and new experiences.

Life is the same. We are born. Brand new life. New beginning. Where there was nothing, new life is born. We are babes. In need of TLC. We grow. We come of age and blossom. We live our lives as in the summertime.

This is where most people hear the gospel and allow the truth to come in and set them free. Free from sin and death. Free from there being nothing more than the natural. Adopted into the family of God.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
God promises us this. He said this in Ezekiel
"And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God." Ezekiel 11:19-20
If we do this in our summertime, and we grow, this is very important, to grow in faith and wisdom toward God and His will and way for your life, then we join our natural seasons with our spiritual seasons. This is important because there is a fall coming.

Fall

Fall comes is subtle. The air starts to cool. The days become shorter, getting dusky and darker sooner. Then it turns beautiful. Leaves change color, and fall flowers bloom. Fall crops come in season and most enjoy this time as well.

Our natural lives are the same way. We were born, lived our lives, worked, played, married, and gave birth to our own children. Now our fall comes in subtle. We slow down a bit. Some of the leaves, on our heads, change colors. Some fall to the ground like the leaves on a tree. We start realizing that we are not young anymore. We start thinking about retirement. We enjoy our grandkids. Hopefully, we saved or prepared for this time. Another reason we need to be children of God and grow in Him as we age.

Look at this warning from Paul.
"But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?" 1 Corinthians 3:1-3
Sadly many people fall into this category. They hear,
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." John 3:16-18
They hear this.
"For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
They say this prayer.

"Oh heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Jesus's sacrifice for me. I believed He rose from the dead. I repent my sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Jesus, Amen!"

Then that's it. That is where they stop. They do not feed their spirit so that they may grow. They do not advance any farther than being Born Again. They stay babes. This is not good.
"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil." Hebrews 5:12-14
As we mature in the flash, things may start to get harder. Our bodies start to wear out a bit. Sometimes we need a bit of assistance in walking or getting up or down. Sometimes we need assistance in just living in our bodies of flesh.

However, I have good news for ya. If you grow in faith, grow in a closer and closer relationship with the God of the universe. Your Creator. The one that made that body, He can and will assist you. Seriously.
"If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you." Romans 8:11
You really cannot have a better helper than the Holy Spirit. Amen? Seriously, there is no other or better option than to trust the one that built your body to care for your body. Oh, you may be starting to see some wrinkles, and maybe your hair is starting to change colors a bit, but the truth is? You are a blood-bought, spiritually adopted, born again, new creature! This is why you need to stop thinking as the other older people do. No offense to anyone here. But you now may be old, but you are a child of God.
"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." Colossians 3:1-4
I have a news report for you. Weather report if you will. As you enjoy your pumpkin pie and corn, as you enjoy apple cider and sit by the fire, winter is coming. There is no avoiding it. there is no putting it off. There is no denying it. Winter is coming. Are you ready for that? This is what we will be discussing next time. Are you ready for winter?

If you did say that prayer of salvation for the first time, it really is that simple. Now go tell someone what you have just done. "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, You shall be saved." Romans 10:9. You need to find a Church that God leads you to and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A New Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."Colossians 3:10
