God IS in Charge, of the Future

God is in charge of the future.

I wrote a book for kids entitled "City Meets Mr. Bear." I know the story. I created City the Raccoon, Joshua the Turtle, and the rest of the characters. I created the world in which they live. As the reader reads the story, they experience the lives of City and his friends as they wake up, have adventures, and return home for the end of the day. I, however, as the author, know how it ends.

We are the story. God is the author. He is in the past. prest, and future. He created us, and the world in which we live. He knows how the story ends. We do not. We wake up. We have adventures, and in the end, we will lay down and go to sleep. God will be there waiting.

Think about this for a second.
"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3:8
This means that you are born, live your life, and die, before God finishes His Coffee. Your kids are born, their kids are born, live and die before lunch. So on and so forth. In human terms, I am talking here. The average life today is somewhere around 75 years. That means that you, your kid, their kid, 13 times all living 75 years, is not even as long as one of God's days.

Let's put this in even more perspective. In human populations, generation time typically ranges from 22 to 33 years. So how many generations are there in one of God's days? Roughly 150. ish.
"Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit” yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin." James 4:13-17
Jesus tells us to be mindful of the present. Do not worry about the future.
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6:34
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. As a matter of fact, the next hour is not even guaranteed. I have used this example before because it is so powerful if you really get it. Think about Tuesday, September 11th, 2001. Everyone woke up that day. Did their routines. They showered or not. They had breakfast or not. They unknowingly kissed their loved ones one last time. They then went off to work and school. Then at 8:13am, everything changed. 3000 people lost their lives that day. Everything in the entire country changed. You see, we do not know what is going to happen in the next hour.

God tells us over and over again, that we need not worry about the future. He is in charge. Jesus tells us this.
"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. " Luke 17:26-30
We are to occupy and live our lives, mindful of these things. We are to,
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7
We are children of God. We are the ones whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. We are the ones who should be looking up. Waiting with anticipation of the return of the Son of God. Ready and happy to welcome that time but not to be fearful of it. If we do not have our death, nor even the end of the world to fear, then why should we fear anything? The author already told us how it was going to end. Revelations wrap up with this.
"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.Amen." Revelation 22:12-21
God IS in charge of all things. Trust in Him and you will truly live a more abundant life without fear. For we truly have nothing to fear. God is our Daddy, and our Daddy IS in charge. Do you know Jesus as your Savior? Have you been adopted into the Family of God? If not, say this Prayer. Right now. Wherever you may be. Say it in your own words, and do not doubt in your heart. God will heal you. He will send the Spirit of Life to you. Let us Pray.

"Oh heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a Sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Jesus and His Sacrifice for me. I believe that He raised from the Dead. I repent my Sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Jesus, Amen!"

That's it. It really is just that simple. Now go tell someone what you have just done. "That if you shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shalt be saved." {Romans 10:9} You need to find a Church that God leads you to, and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A New Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." {Colossians 3:10}

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen.{2 Corinthians 13}

Until next time, be Blessed, be a Blessing, and Jesus is Lord!
