The Calling, The Third Step

Of An Anointed Life

Welcome. If I asked you what Step of Life you were in, what would you answer? Do you even know? Every Life has at Least Three Steps. An Anointed Life has Five. Make no mistake, you ARE on a step. You are in the middle of something. You can find the Steps of Life in  Romans 8:29-30

"For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified."

Step One, God Foreknows you. He knew you before your Mother and Father ever even met. He Created you. According to Psalm 139:16-18,

"Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you."

God Created you the way you are for a reason. He wrote in His Book, you would be this tall, have this color hair, eyes, look this way, etc. Then you were fashioned or formed exactly the way God said for a reason. Jesus even told us this.

"But even the hairs of your head are all numbered." {Matthew 10:30}

Think about that. Try to do that yourself. Count the hairs on your head. God has. He numbered them. This applies to everyone. Everyone who is born on the face of the Earth is Created by God. We are all God's Creation. Careful though. We are NOT all God's Children, as some would like you to believe. More on that in a Second. But we are all Created by God. He Foreknows us all.

Step Two. He Predestinates us. Did you know that? God has a Purpose and a Plan for you and your Life. It is NOT working 8 to 10 hours a day, Paying Bills, and Dying. Trust me, there is so much more to life than this. Do not make your J.O.B. your GOD. It's easy to do if you are not careful. Even some Ministers fall into this trap. It is NOT all about making money and paying the Electric Bill.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

He Created all things. The Sun, the Moon, the Stars. He Created the Earth and all that is in it. Then he Created you to be a Blue Collar Worker, slaving away for someone else, only to come home and give your money to yet someone else.

He Created the World. Have you seen the Ocean? Have you seen the beauty of God's Mountains? Have you ever seen the Majesty of Nature itself? Looked up into the night sky? Know what happens if you leave your Job tomorrow? Someone else will do it. It does not matter what it is. If you are a Janitor? A Doctor? A Ditch Digger? An Actor? Once you step down and move on, someone else will step up and do the same Job. No matter how good or important you think you are, in the end? It's just a Job.

God has a Plan and a Purpose, for YOU. It is not being just an "Insert Job Title here." Even Jesus said this. John 10:10

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." 

Does that mean that He is going to take you out of the Mail Room and make you the CEO? No. Of course not. Then again, if that is needed for some way for God's Purpose, He could do that without a doubt. But if not? Sorry. I'm also sorry to tell you, if it is not in God's best interest, you are most likely not going to hit the Lotto and become a Billionaire. Just saying.

God does have a reason for your mere existence. You just need to find out what that is. This is where the most important Step comes in. Step number Three, God Calls you. This is what we will be talking about more in-depth next time. Steps Four, "Justification" or a Time of Preparation, which is EXTREMELY important to not skip, and Step Five, Glorification, come into play. It all depends on your Answer. God Calls you. Your Answer? Yes or No?

If you said "No?" Yeah. Lightning is not going to come and strike you down when you walk out of here today, no worries about that. The Earth most likely will not open up and swallow you whole. Fire and Brimstone will not come crashing down on your head because you said "No." But what happens? Well, nothing. You are already Condemned? You are already on your way to an eternity without God. Hell. You don't have to do anything. Neither does God. He is not Condemning you because you say "No." He is prevented from doing something to SAVE you.

Wait? God Created me. He wrote how I would look and then formed me this way. He set up and Purpose and a Plan for me and my Life, and yet you are saying I am already Condemned?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." {John3:16-18}

Read that Part again,

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

It says whoever, anyone, everyone, all, who what? Does not believe, is what? Condemned already. You do not have to do anything but answer "No." God cannot follow up with Step Three, Four, or Five if you say "No." Join us next time for more on this.

What is your answer today? Do you hear God Calling you? Do you know Jesus as your Savior? Have you been adopted into the Family of God? If not, say this Prayer. Right now. Wherever you may be. Say it in your own words, and do not doubt in your heart. God will hear you. He will send the Spirit of Life to you. Let us Pray.

"Oh heavenly Father, Lord God. I am a sinner. I know this. I know there is nothing I can do to change that. But I know you can. I accept Jesus's sacrifice for me. I repent of my sins. Please send the Spirit of Adoption into my life. Help me to get to know the real you. Save me. Please. In the name of Jesus, Amen!"

That's it. It really is that simple. Now go tell someone what you have just done. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." {Romans 10:9} You need to find a Church that God leads you to, and be Baptized the way Jesus said to be. You are now a Child of God. A new Creature. You "have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." {Colossians 3:10}
