There is Hope and a Future

Pastor Ron Lindemann

“Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts is the Lord” (Psalm 32:10).

The condition of the American government has certainly created a tremendous amount of doubt in the hearts of people. The last few days are no exception as tension among Americans continues to grow. Many people are asking, “Who can we trust anymore?” People today live in fear of their future wondering how they can survive such chaos and confusion. When we lose sight of who is ultimately in control we live in fear and doubt of a hopeful future. Throughout the Old Testament we constantly see the Israelites falling away from God finding themselves dealing with oppression and tension within their living conditions initiated by a life of unfaithfulness. This is often cause by a self-induced living style that is outside God’s will and plan for our lives. As America works its way of shutting God out of its very core of existence it will continue to live in chaos. Satan is winning the battle of creating doubt in the hearts of people. Satan has convinced people there is no one who can be trusted.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord” (Jeremiah 17:7). On our own we are doomed and lost; we need someone to lead and guide us. We all need someone to pave the way for our future and hope. We can’t do it on our own. Who is the one we can trust? Jesus. We cannot lose confidence in the One who is the Cornerstone of the very foundation of life. We cannot lose sight of the one who gives us hope and a future. “He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord” (Psalm 112:7). So today as I read the headline article “There is No End in Sight” I know there is an end and a future – one that God has planned and paved the way for each one of us through Christ. Take time today to pray for the leaders of our country that they would lead and guide us in the hope and promise that only God can give.

Heavenly father, you are the source of all goodness. Guide the leaders of our nation to be faithful to the calling you have placed in their lives to care for the security and wellbeing of our nation. While Satan uses this as a time of destruction; use it to draw people closer to you as we place our trust in you with our lives. Thank you for the hope and future we have through your Son, Jesus. Amen!

Rod Lindemann
